I Have A Question For You All. Everyone Please Read.

Well, last night I received a virus called "w32 Blaster Worm". This particular "virus" is rather unique, instead of just containing a virus it also has Trojans and proxys, and is classified as a "blendid threat". When this virus runs it injects them evenly throughout my computer files until every single file has been infected and will not start up. This virus is not anonymous. It was discovered by Microsoft back in 2003. This is also the fastest spreading virus ever. Every one of my files were completely infected in a matter of 30 seconds to 1 minute. Now, I want your opinions on what I should do. http://www.sans.org/security-resources/malwarefaq/w32_blasterworm.php

I'm not sure what to say Alex. Feel bad for you atm, I'm voting no you shouldn't, not because I don't like you or anything like that, but so you don't gotta spend anymore cash on fixing computers, unless you know anyway yourself. :/ Hope you find a way to get rid of it though!  :-\

PM me if you want a siggy!

You kids really make me mad, Ish. If you would have read everything you would have realized it infects through microsoft and stealthly destroys your antivirus without you knowing and makes it run like it's still working. Now QFT;)

I know this was 8 days ago, but i had a similar, but not similar virus a bit back now. At first it just sat on my computer, doing nothing, but then i just decided to run an anti-rootkit scan to see what it finds, and it found a rootkit (im using avg free 2011). i was running malwarebytes anti-malware at the same time and i needed to restart to get rid of it completely, and i didnt because malwarebytes was still running, which was a VERY dumb move. Instantly after that, my computer said i had no anti-virus, when i tried to run avg, it just came up with an error message, i was ****. Basically, my grandad worked in IT, so he had a look at it. It wouldnt even get past the windows xp loading screen without it bluesreening. He thought the only way to get rid of it was to format the hard-drive, and re-install windows xp. So he did, and when he tried to install, it kept coming up with random files that couldnt be written to the drive. COMPLETELY **** :(. So we sent it back to the shop, and guess what? They found that it had a RAM problem aswell, so they replaced it and its working fine.

So, i know how you feel alex :( and sorry for the long-ass reply and the patchy grammar :/
Just one thing, did you have a good firewall installed?
and what does qft mean?

I think i've had this problem, you just needed to save it in time which you did to Gz.
I had the problem and I hesitated and my old computer became a doorstop.

You should stay, but try avoid the ones that seem suspicious.
